Melanie & Corey, 7.22.11

Melanie and Corey’s wedding at Lakeview Resort in Morgantown was a lot of fun, despite the near-100 degree temperatures! As true (gold and) blue Mountaineers, they decided to make a trip to Woodburn Circle for a few portraits before the ceremony. Their son, Kellen, was adorable in his vest and knee socks, and Melanie looked amazing and her dress was awesome, in my humble opinion. It finally cooled off a bit after a twilight thunderstorm, which put on quite a show across Cheat Lake. We set up a photo booth, which worked out so well (and was so popular with young and old) I’m planning to add it as an option for future weddings. And of course a WV wedding wouldn’t be complete without the couple singing “Country Roads” at the top of their lungs, surrounded by great friends.

Susan & Brandon, 7.9.2011

Susan and Brandon are a perfect pair, and their wedding day was full of smiles and red. Which is wonderful for a photographer – I love spending the day with a happy couple surrounded by great friends and vibrant colors. They were married at St. Bernadette’s in Monroeville, PA with a reception at the Doubletree.

Emily and Jason, 6.24.2011

Emily and Jason wanted to get away from it all and have a simple, beautiful wedding that fit their style. So they decided to bring a few of their closest friends and family to Snowshoe, WV. They rented a big cabin with an amazing view and asked me to be their photographer. The pictures tell the story – everyone shared smiles and tears flowed freely, especially when Emily’s father serenaded them a capella during the ceremony. They’re an awesome couple and I’m truly grateful for being invited to be a part of their day. Press play for the slideshow.

Margaret and Bill, 5.21.2011

A few weeks ago I travelled to Columbus, Ohio for Margaret and Bill’s wedding. It was a unique ceremony and reception at the Loft at Smith Brothers. We started at North Bank Park, where they chose to do a “first look.” It was a great idea – they were able to visit for a few minutes and we took a few portraits before the ceremony. I really like this venue – it was the second wedding I’ve photographed there (see Kathy and Todd’s wedding).

Gretchen and Dave engagement

I met Gretchen and Dave in Sewickley, PA for an engagement session and we were fortunate to have beautiful weather. I’m looking forward to their October 1 wedding in Sewickley and reception at the William Penn.
